| Originally from Chinle, Arizona, in the United States, Dr. Agnes Nizhoni came to Knottwood partly to help supervise the therapy of little Colin Eight, and partly to see how being in a completely different geographic and cultural environment would affect the way she works. "It's an experiment," she admits, "to see if the principles I espouse seem as valuable and appropriate in a completely different culturo-geographical environment."
The Knottwood residents, initially suspicious of psychiatry in any form, and convinced they didn't need any, soon found themselves coming to Dr. Agnes for her blunt but warm practical advice.
